En Aulasneo we are platform experts Open Edx, which transforms people's lives through online education. We use Open edX as the engine of our educational platform, which allows us to implement training for various use cases.
Why is it important to participate in elections? Open edX 2023?
Because the members who will be chosen to make up the TOC (Technical Oversight Committee Charter) will work on the technical aspects to improve the platform so that the user experience is optimal and aligned with global educational requirements.
We invite you to vote!
Voter Registration for Community TOC Elections! Open edX from 2023 is open! To be eligible to vote this year you must be:
- A major contributor to Open edX or a maintainer of Open edX
- An instructor using the platform Open edX to teach a course, including teaching assistants (TAs) and course content authors
Only instructors need to register at this time. Major contributors and maintainers are already registered due to their status in the project and will receive ballots directly. Instructors can register here!.
The community is called to elect 3 members of the new central decision-making body of the project Open edX: The Technical Oversight Committee (TOC). The 3 chosen community representatives will join the TOC, along with the 3 members of tCRIL and the 3 members of 2U.
The 3 elected community representatives have the mission of representing the community as a whole, but each one with a specific focus:
- Operators and main community representative, which is chosen by the project major contributors y maintainers
- instructor representative, which is chosen by everyone who produces or runs a course currently active on Open edX
- student representative, which represents everyone who uses Open edX to learn; for this round of elections, it is chosen by the instructors, but the representative will be responsible for communicating with the students and helping them to become involved in the project and their elections.
If you are running a currently active course on Open edX, please register to vote! This includes any form of contribution to the creation of a course, and in particular, Teaching Assistants (TAs).
Voter registration is open through September 30 and the election will be held in October.
Help reach eligible voters!
We also need the help of the entire community so that all eligible voters know that they can vote. Since we are an open source project, our community is spread across many individual sites from Open edX. Many students, instructors, TAs and operators will not follow the news here, so if you know of any or have a way to post the voter registration news where the users of Open edX they will see them, help us!
